Bispens Market and World Cup 2026

Mark your calendar for July 20 – 26, 2026

Step into the Middle Ages when Spøttrup Castle once again opens the gates to Bispens Market throughout week 30. A week filled with living history, atmosphere and experiences for both children and adults awaits – and in 2026 the market will be bigger than ever before.

This year’s market is part of the celebration of Skive’s 700th anniversary as a market town, and this can be felt throughout the area. Here you will have the opportunity to experience and learn more about life in Skive and the surrounding area 700 years ago and up to the end of the Middle Ages. There will be more activities, more life and even more Middle Ages – with crafts and stalls, fun and entertainment and taste experiences in the food area.

You can also look forward to action and drama as the castle area is filled with knights and giants. During the week, you can experience both a knight tournament and a grand battle – an impressive re-enactment of the Battle of Sankt Jørgens Berg, where the audience gets up close to medieval combat, tactics and strength.

World Championship in Medieval Martial Arts – Thursday to Sunday

As one of the highlights of the week, the World Championship in Medieval Martial Arts will take over Spøttrup Borg from Thursday to Sunday. Combat-ready fighters from all over the world will gather here for intense battles in full armor, where it’s not just about raw strength, but also about technique, endurance and will.

The audience can experience the special intensity up close when the armor clangs, the weapons strike, and the battle for victory is played out in front of the historic castle walls. The World Cup will be spectacular – and an experience you’ll never forget.

Come and enjoy an unforgettable day at the castle – we look forward to welcoming you.
